Their home from home.

Conveniently located just 15 minutes from junction 28 on the M4, PAWD is nestled in the valleys of Caerphilly between Newport and Cardiff.

One of South Wales’ most popular hiking and biking destinations, Cwmcarn is probably best known for its scenic forest drive.

The hills of this previously-mined area have been transformed into peaceful forests with impressive views, where nature has reclaimed the majority of the former industrial past.

Our daily walks are as varied as our Welsh weather and as individual as the dogs who stay with us. From lazy Sunday canal walks to energetic hikes where our PAWD guests can run, swim, paddle, sniff and explore.

Cwmcarn is known for its beautiful walks and trails and we take full advantage of this, regularly exploring the Bluebell, Twmbarlin and Nantcarn walks, as well as the more strenuous Ravens, 1807 and Escape to Twmbarlin trials where we stop for a well-deserved drink at an iron age hill fort while admiring the views over Cardiff Bay and The Brecon Beacons.

We also plan days out at least twice a week to surrounding areas of natural beauty, please see our Road Trips page for more information.

Sunday is our Meet and Greet/ PAWD Reunion Day, where new and regular clients can join us for an afternoon walk for approximately one hour.

Please note that bookings for Sundays must be made in advance as spaces are limited.
